Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on
August 26, 2002) who is professionally referred to as Lil Tecca, is an American
musician and rapper. The success of "Ransom," his 2019 single,
allowed him to become a major star. The track was released on his debut mixtape
We Love You Tecca (2019) which reached number 4 on the US Billboard 200. The
mixtape also included the two singles "Love Me" and "Did It
Again". The debut album of his studio called Virgo World (2020) debuted at
number 10 on the Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100 charting
songs "Dolly" as well as "When You Down". His second
mixtape "We Love You Tecca 2" came out in August 2021. It featured
"Repeat It" as well as "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony
Sharpe is a Jamaican immigrant, was born in Queens on the 26th of August 2002.
Sharpe was raised in Springfield Gardens a neighborhood of Queens and later
moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island. Sharpe was a young man with aspirations to
be an athlete in basketball, but his attention shifted to music at age 12.
Sharpe graduated from Lawrence High School. When Tecca was nine years old, he
adapted to his interest in music through rapping with friends using his Xbox.
One of their diss tracks was posted to SoundCloud many years ago but was later
removed. At first, he did not have any plans to pursue a musical career
however, he had a dream of becoming an NBA superstar. However, in his middle
school years, he lost interest in basketball and began to consider taking music
more seriously. His first single, "Tectri", which gained some
popularity in the early 2017 was made with Lil Gummybear and released in
collaboration. Lil Gummybear. The other tracks that he had in the beginning
include "Callin". A year later Tecca's career started to grow by
releasing his smash single "Ransom" and was first uploaded to Cole
Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22 in 2019. The song peaked
at 4 in the Billboard Hot 100 charts and was played over 900,000,000 times on
Spotify and more than 300 million times on YouTube.
