Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7th 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a theatre actor, writer and director, as is her mother, Sara Wood, is an actress and acting coach. Her older brothers are Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV who also have been actors. Evan and her brothers acted in the Theatre In The Park, Raleigh in the same place where her father serves as the executive director. At the age five she was screen-tested against Kirsten Dunst to play the lead role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) following a lengthy audition process. In 1996, she relocated to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mother. She has been a star in television shows as well as feature films and television movies since. She was the main character in Practical Magic (1998), as Al Pacino’s daughter. The comedic S1m0ne(2002) was followed by Thirteen (2003) featuring Holly Hunter. Her character of Tracy in "Thirteen," which she was a part of, earned her a nomination at the Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama, and a nomination from the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress Female in the Leading Role. At the time she received the nomination from SAG she was the most youthful actor to be nominated in the Leading Role category. Her role as Veda Pierce in the HBO miniseries Mildred, Pierce (2011) earned her an Emmy nomination as well as the Golden Globe award. She also earned acclaim for her impressive performance as Stephanie the estranged Mickey Rourke's daughter, in the Darren Aronofsky film The Wrestler (2008). Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are her parents. Ira David Wood III's younger sister. A dancer who has been trained. She is a fan of singing, swimming or rollerblade and also go back on horses.
